Will Ospreay Reveals Surprising Offer for a New Theme Song – But He’s Not Ready to Replace “Elevated”

In the world of professional wrestling, entrance themes are more than just music — they’re a defining part of a wrestler’s identity. For AEW’s Will Ospreay, his iconic theme “Elevated” has become instantly recognizable to fans across the globe. However, in a recent interview, Ospreay revealed that a well-known music group recently offered to create a brand-new theme for him — and the story behind it might surprise you.

Speaking with the Daily Star, Will Ospreay opened up about his current music preferences and revealed an unexpected turn in his listening habits. While known for his high-energy performances inside the ring, Ospreay admitted he’s currently vibing to a very different kind of sound.

“Honestly, I’ve really gotten into country music lately,” Ospreay said. “It completely caught me by surprise. I’ve been listening to Morgan Wallen, Chris Stapleton, Alabama — all that classic and modern country stuff. But nothing lifts my mood quite like Purple Disco Machine. Their beats, their vibe — it always brings back happy memories and puts me in a great mood.”

While the shift in musical taste might suggest a potential change in entrance music, Ospreay was quick to reassure fans that “Elevated” isn’t going anywhere. Still, that didn’t stop one famous band from trying to get in on the action.

During the interview, Ospreay shared a humorous yet intriguing story from the recent Jericho Cruise, where he was approached by a member of Downstait — the same band known for creating popular wrestling entrance themes like Cody Rhodes’ “Kingdom.”

“So I’ve got a story for you,” Ospreay continued. “I was on the Jericho Cruise, just enjoying myself, when one of the guys — maybe from Downstait, maybe not, I honestly don’t know — came up to me completely drunk. He said, ‘If you ever need a theme song, we’d love to do it. We’re approachable.’ I thought, wow, that’s bold! I just smiled and said, ‘Mate, I love what you guys do — your stuff is amazing. But I’m good. I love Elevated way too much.’”

Despite the tempting offer, Ospreay’s loyalty to his current theme highlights just how much “Elevated” has become a part of his wrestling persona. From its soaring rhythm to its emotional connection with fans, the song has cemented its place in wrestling history — at least for now.

Why “Elevated” Still Resonates With Fans
“Elevated,” originally by It Lives, It Breathes, has been with Ospreay for several years and continues to energize arenas every time he walks out. Its blend of high-octane rock and emotional build-up mirrors Ospreay’s unique wrestling style — explosive, passionate, and unforgettable. For many fans, it’s hard to imagine his entrance without it.

Will Ospreay’s Musical Future
While Ospreay isn’t ready to change his theme music, his eclectic taste — from country legends to electronic dance artists — shows that he’s always evolving outside the ring. Whether he’s tuning into Chris Stapleton or getting hyped with Purple Disco Machine, Ospreay’s love for music clearly plays a major role in his life and energy.

Final Thoughts
Will Ospreay’s recent revelation adds an interesting twist to the world of wrestling themes. While a new song from Downstait would certainly be exciting, it’s clear that “Elevated” still holds a special place in the heart of both Ospreay and his fans. For now, and perhaps for the foreseeable future, the sound of “Elevated” will continue to echo through arenas as Will Ospreay makes his way to the ring.
